في عتمة الليل الهادئ، من قريتي الحيلونة، وأمام منزلي…
حلّ عليّ ضيف بري مميز، جلبته غريزة الاستكشاف.
من خلف عدسة Syrian Wild Lens، نجحتُ في توثيق سيناريو كامل يلخص غريزة البقاء والذكاء الفطري لـالثعلب الأحمر السوري (Vulpes vulpes palpharae) في ثلاث لقطات حاسمة.

هذا الضيف البري الجميل هو الثعلب الأحمر السوري (الاسم العلمي: Vulpes vulpes palpharae)، وهو فصيلة فرعية من الثعلب الأحمر واسع الانتشار، ومتكيف بشكل ممتاز مع الطبيعة الجبلية والزراعية الممتدة في ريف مصياف وقريتنا الجميلة “الحيلونة”.

السلوك الملاحظ: الالتفاف السريع والركض مغادراً المكان.
التفاصيل: لقطة ديناميكية مذهلة! بمجرد أن حسم الثعلب أمره بأن المكان غير آمن، تفعّلت لديه غريزة البقاء. يظهر في الصورة اندفاعه العضلي الرشيق، ويبرز بشكل واضح جداً ذيله الكثيف الطويل الممتد، والذي يستخدمه كـ”دفة” لتوجيه توازنه أثناء الالتفاف السريع والهرب في عتمة الليل.

In the quiet darkness of night, from my village Al-Helouneh, in front of my house…
A distinguished wild guest came to me, brought by the instinct of exploration.
Behind the lens of Syrian Wild Lens, I succeeded in documenting a complete scenario that summarizes the survival instinct and innate intelligence of the Syrian Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes palpharae) in three decisive shots.
🦊 Who Is This Guest?
This beautiful wild guest is the Syrian Red Fox (Scientific name: Vulpes vulpes palpharae), a subspecies of the widespread Red Fox, excellently adapted to the mountainous and agricultural nature extending in Misyaf’s countryside and our beautiful village “Al-Helouneh.”
📸 Behavioral Analysis of the Three Photos
The three photos represent typical behavioral steps of a wild animal that is intelligent and extremely cautious when approaching human structures at night:
🔸 First Photo: Approach and Exploration
Observed Behavior: The fox appears advancing slowly using the clear dirt path.
Details: His body language shows curiosity mixed with caution; his ears are raised and directed forward to detect any sounds, and his eyes are fixed in my direction, an initial exploratory behavior to verify the area’s safety.
🔸 Second Photo: Vigilance and Camouflage
Observed Behavior: Instant strategic retreat behind basil shrubs, peering stealthily.
Details: Here the fox’s intelligence manifested; when he sensed my presence or the glint of my lens, he did not flee immediately but chose simulation and visual camouflage using vegetation (basil shrubs) to reduce his visible size. His cautious glances reflect his attempt to assess the danger level before making his next decision.
🔸 Third Photo: Flight Response – Hit and Run
Observed Behavior: Rapid turning and running away from the place.
Details: A stunning dynamic shot! Once the fox decided the place was unsafe, his survival instinct activated. The photo shows his agile muscular dash, and very clearly highlights his thick, long tail extended, which he uses as a “rudder” to guide his balance during rapid turning and escape in the darkness of night.
🌲 The Environmental Value of Our Documentation in “Al-Helouneh”
The presence of the Red Fox in Al-Helouneh village at night is natural and very healthy for the environment; it is considered a skilled nocturnal hunter feeding on rodents (like mice and rats), insects, and reptiles, directly contributing to achieving environmental balance and protecting agricultural crops in the region.
