🍄 The Magic of Syrian Oak Forests… The Ruby Bolete Mushroom
In the heart of pristine oak forests, in the village of Al-Helouneh in Misyaf’s countryside…
The lens of Syrian Wild Lens documented a magical fungal scene, hiding among grasses and fallen leaves.
It is the Ruby Bolete (Boletus / Hortiboletus)… an astonishing natural color palette.
🎨 Astonishing Color Palette
🔸 The Cap: Velvety, with a warm chestnut brown color tending to ruby red from above.
🔸 The Real Surprise Beneath: It does not have traditional “gills” like other mushrooms, but is distinguished by a spongy layer of fine pores and tubes with a bright lemon-yellow color.
🔸 When Cut Vertically: The Creator’s greatness manifests in the color gradient of its internal flesh, where lemon yellow at the top blends with soft coral pink at the base of the stem, without changing color or oxidizing with air (does not turn blue).
🌳 Vital Importance for the Forest
This mushroom is not just a beautiful shape… but a loyal vital partner to the oak tree.
It lives with its roots in a state of “mycorrhizal symbiosis”… helping the tree absorb water and minerals from the soil, and in return, the tree gives it food.
This maintains the balance and health of the Syrian forest.
📌 Important Note:
We at Syrian Wild Lens do not possess sufficient expertise in mushrooms… we were only enchanted by the beauty of this mushroom, the information about it, and its value in ecological balance between it and the trees.
We do not recommend picking or eating it… but leave it to complete its role in the forest.
