جيورغ بازليتز، أحد أبرز رسامي ألمانيا بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية ومحرك حركةِ التعبيرية الجديدة في ثمانينيات القرن الماضي التي انتقدت التياراتَ التقليلية، وقد أثار لاحقًا جدلًا بتعليقاته حول الفنانات، تُوفي عن عمر يناهز ثمانيةً وثمانين عاماً. أعلن وفاته في بادئ الأمر بيانٌ صحفي صادر عن غاليري تاددايوس روپاک، إحدى الصالات التي كانت تمثّله.

برز بازليتز في وعي الفن الألماني خلال ستينيات القرن الماضي بأسلوبٍ رسمي خام يتناغم مع موضوعاتٍ معذبة؛ سلسلةُه الشهيرة «الأبطال» (1965–1966) تظهر شخصيات منتفخة وكتلية تتوازن فوق مبانٍ مدمرة وأعلامٍ مقلوبة. عبر منظوره، بدا المجتمع الألماني بعد الحرب عاريًا ومتوتّرًا كعضلةٍ مكشوفة. تلتها سلسلة «الكسرة/Fracture»، حيث تُقطّع الفأسة والفرائس إلى شرائح ويعاد خياطةُها لتتجمع في غاباتٍ أسطورية جرمانية — «مناظر طبيعية مجروحة»، كما وصفها الفنان.
Germany – Renowned German artist Georg Baselitz passed away today at the age of 88, according to an announcement from his artistic circle and confirmed by his family. German Ministry of Culture.State Minister for Culture and Media, Wolfram Weimer, mourned the passing of the artist, describing him as “one of the most prominent artists of our time who shaped the conscience of German and world art,” emphasizing that his artistic contributions served as a bridge between a painful past and a creative future. The late artist, whose real name was Hans-Georg Kern, was born in 1938 in the village of Deutschbaselitz in the former East Germany . His upbringing amidst the ruins of World War II shaped his unique artistic vision, which revolved around themes of destruction, rebellion, and the search for a lost self amidst the rubble. He began his academic career at the East Berlin Academy
